What is Energy Psychology?
Physicists have discovered what religions and healers from the East have known for thousands of year: we are more than the sum of our parts. Human beings are more than just the sum components of the body and the brain. At our core we are beings of Energy. A car will not run if the battery is dead. Human beings are not alive if they have no energy. In medicine today we have the growing field of complementary or alternative medicine. This field comes out of the recognition that we are more than just biochemical beings. If you ask a medical doctor traditionally trained why the body loses weight after it dies he will explain that energy has been released. Is this the soul? Ancient civilizations have the awareness that there is a life force that flows through us: In China it is called Chi; hence Tai Chi; In India it is called Prana and pranic breathing is one of the basic exercises in Yoga practice; In the Bible it is called Ruach. When we are sick: spiritually, mentally or physically there is a blockage in our energy; We are not flowing freely. Common examples we can all relate to are depression which we associate with low or no energy or anxiety – where it feels more like blocked or repressed energy i.e. underlying fear that is bubbling through. The solution is unblocking or resolving the energy blocks and bringing our energy field back into balance. Energy Psychology techniques allow us to access the mind/body's energy pathways to gently and safely resolve these blocks so we can return to a state of balance. When we are in balance our minds are clear, our hearts are open and our body is in a state of relaxation.
Revolutionary Energy Psychology therapies include:
Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT) formerly known as Seemorg Matrix Work (SMW)
is a transpersonal and energy therapy that resolves emotional distress using the energy centers of the body. In the process negative, limiting beliefs and emotional patterns are replaced with positive beliefs, emotions and qualities. Meditation is also part of the healing process. (Asha Clinton, PhD)
(EMDR) is a comprehensive method for treating trauma and anxiety related disorders. EMDR treatment involves having the client focus on an external stimulus such as: a) frequent back and forth eye movements, b) alternating sound, or occasionally, c) hand tapping, while the client is focused on the source of the emotional distress.
In addition, cognitive interweaving is often used to further facilitate change.
(Francine Shapiro, PhD)
Be Set Free Fast (BSFF) is a simple step by step effective method utilizing the subconscious mind to resolve problems. After all negative beliefs, negative emotions, angers and unforgiveness that underly problems are eliminated, positive beliefs and affirmations are installed. (Larry Nims, PhD)
Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT) is a method of eliminating emotional distress using the energy meridians of the body. Problems such as anxiety, panic, depression, guilt or anger are focused on while tapping on specific acupuncture points on the body. Forgiveness and self-acceptance provides the foundation for this healing process.
